2000 Millenium Yellow Corvette Convertible
The car was ordered on June 1, 1999 from Chapman Chevrolet after several attempts at obtaining my dream car from other dealers in the Phoenix metro area. Either they did not think I was serious or they thought I was 'young and/or not a serious buyer' but either way they lost out on a rather large commission and a loyal customer. Oh well, Syed treated me well and his follow-up service has been GREAT!
The car is a 6-speed convertible with all of the options except the side mouldings, front license plate bracket, and aluminum rims (My car was built before the vendor constraint was resolved). It has two of the cooler options within recent memory: the adjustable suspension (F45) and Heads-Up Display (UV6). I would recommend these to anyone!
I contacted the factory workers while the car was being built and tracked the car as it made it's way to Arizona on a train and truck (I was in Malaysia at the time and this was a SSSLLOOOWWW experience!). Would you believe that the car took less time to be built (4 days) than it took to get from Kentucky to Arizona (~2 weeks)? I took delivery on August 30, 1999.
The only problems I have had with the car to date have been a slight rattle in the top closure mechanism, a non-retracting seat belt, a bad oil pump, and I have had the Column Lock Recall performed. The only 'mods' I have done are the chrome exhaust tips, rear valence plate, the Window Valet (highly recommneded!), and a Colgan Bra (for those LLLOOONNNGGG road trips). The car will remain stock in all other respects as I don't want to stray from what The General intended (plus, it's already a pretty cool car!).
Below are some photos of my car, along with some of some of the first CorvetteForum members that I met up with way back in '99!:

The next big item on the horizon is to meet up with ~400 other Corvette enthusiasts in Bowling Green, Ky over the upcoming memorial Day weekend (5/22-6). To learn more about our trip, go here. For recommendations on where not to stay while you are in BG, go here. Jason and I will be cruising from Phoenix to BG and then make a stop at my sister's in good ol' Louisiana before heading back. With the schedule that we will have, I will have just enough time to fly to Des Moines, IA and meet up with the Vintage Mustang Forum members that have 'adopted' me (It's a good thing I have 2 months off now that I have been at Ma Intel for seven years...). For info on my '65 Mustang Coupe, go here.
